Prevent puppet pieces from stretching

Sometimes you don't want your puppet to stretch like taffy. You want arms to bend at the joints but not go beyond full extension. By selecting this option for a puppet piece, it will still move with its parent pieces and rotate on its origin, but not stretch. Even better, give us the flexibility (ha ha) to have LIMITED stretch, so that the piece will elongate a little bit to follow the mouse but not across the entire frame.

You can use the Stick tool in the Puppet panel to create rigid segments that won't bend across the stick, but can scale longer. Would that help?

Jeff - Sure, bones are helpful, but I'm talking about one step further. In a realistic human puppet, the arms don't stretch indefinitely to follow the mouse. The limbs are always the same length and can only move by rotating on their joints. What about an animation where you want the character to raise both arms over her head? In the current system you have to be careful to raise the dragger to the same height for each hand, tricky when you can only see one at a time. But with "unstretchable" limbs, you can just move each dragger to the top of the frame, and the arm will extend as far as it can but not double in length.

Yes combination of AE puppet tool "starch" and DUIK style rig options would be awesome.

Yes, that would be awesome! andd also a way to prevent a limb from bending in a direction we don't want to. I'm tired of seeing my characters breaking its arms bending it backwards '-'
